In recent days President Biden has made statements and taken steps that indicate a shift in his administration’s support of Israel’s war effort. In the next few days, senior Israeli and U.S. officials will meet in Washington to discuss the next stage of the war plan. It is critical that President Biden receive messages from the many members of our community urging him to support Israel as it seeks to vanquish Hamas.
As we will all gather in shul on Purim, a chag that allows us to have our phones with us, we ask for your participation in this crucial advocacy. This is the time לבוא אל המלך להתחנן לו ולבקש מלפניו על עמך, to “go to the king and plead with him to implore him to help your people.”

Enough Sympathy: Jews Need Real Action to Stop Antisemitism |
Rabbi Moshe Hauer
|
President Biden’s State of the Union address notably ignored America’s current tidal wave of antisemitism and failed to reference the May 2023 launch of the first-ever National Strategy to Combat Antisemitism. Doing otherwise would have forced an acknowledgement that to date that strategy has been utterly ineffective. More recent immediate responses have also been ineffective.

The Dimensions of Sin |
It’s puzzling that the sins for which a sin offering had to be brought were those committed inadvertently, i.e., the “sinner” either forgot the law or some relevant fact. This is the kind of act that we don’t tend to see as a sin at all.
